PROMOTING THE OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE
OUTDOOR INDUSTRIES
What a great year in Southern Idaho. We were lucky enough to draw several tags for the family and one buck tag for a long time client from out of state. With October starting it off with Steve getting lucky on a buck. We spent a week looking for the right one and saw some really nice healthy bucks we didn't get the chance to get the big one. While he also had a bull elk tag that was what he was really looking for. After harvesting his buck, we set off to a unit that was quite a ways away. We found some nice bulls on some private land just across the road from our unit. This is a tough tag to make happen. The elk has to be within a mile of cultivated or irrigated fields and not in the National Forest boundry. We spend 4 days in that same zone and finally made it happen. Early morning, we spotted several bulls and cows on the public land just on the right side of the fence. After over two weeks of driving, hiking, glassing and spotting we made it happen. Congrats on pulling it off on a tricky hunt!
Hunting season Southern Idaho
First buck for Cristina
Another long shot at 386 yards with her Boyds Thumbhole stock Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor.
SUPER job on Evelin's first deer. Great shot at 286 yards with some pretty strong crosswinds. Ruger go wild in 6,5 Creedmoor is a great caliber with low recoil for kids too!
Evelin with excellent form and ... patience !
Below is the Savage 93 .22 WMR with the original stock. Plenty of knockdown power with this round. Now with the recently added BOYDS SPIKECAMP THUMBHOLE STOCK this gun is even more accurate.

Below is Steve with a yote he took from 110 yards with his .22 WMR with his Ruger American set up with the BOYDS AT -ONE THUMBHOLE stock.

Nice unit 54 Buck. Lucky to get him after 10 days of hunting. Nice shot at 307 yards with the Ruger 7MM. Tough mix of private and public land hunt with a lot of other huters.
It was questionable weather these elk would come out of the hills. Pretty dry with no snow on the ground .... then it snowed!

I guess there is a debate between the .22 MAG and the .17 HMR. After finally trying out a new Savage 93 17 HMR, I found it to be a fast and accurate little round. The HORNADY 17 GRAIN V-MAX is deadly on small game! Savage 93 17HMR with the Vortex Viper 3-12x40. Not a bad scope but I think we will put a 50 objective on next for our coyote hunt.
